ABOUT

There’re more important things disappearing than bars and restaurants here in NYC—but this is just my personal take on places I’ve seen go. Especially those that were driven out by a greedy landlord to lay vacant for years.

Being a Tolkien nerd I was also sort of inspired to do this by his songs. Many are laments for things that no longer exist (like Song of Durin & Lament for the Rohirrim). I originally wanted to name this series “Where now the bar and the bartender? Where is the beer that was flowing?” but no one would get it.

That said…please don’t take any of this that seriously.
